Gunfights rock Tunisia as police try to restore calm

Tunisia's army and police forces are trying to restore order in the North African country, but were confronted with further unrest Sunday when gunfights broke out in the capital and outlying areas.

Despite signs that the days-long unrest was beginning to fade, the country is still mired in violence due to a populist uprising that forced an end to 23 years of iron-fisted rule by ousted President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, and a subsequent power struggle. /CTV NEWS
